Sponsored charity walk for Crohn's and Colitis
Due to COVID it has been difficult for St Giles to raise funds for worthy causes.
John Waller (Secretary of St Giles) and daughter Claire undertook a sponsored half marathon walk on behalf of the Crohn's and Colitis charity.
They walked from their home to Willen Lake and back a distance of just over 14.7 miles, so completed just over the required 13 miles.
Like many other charities Crohn's and Colitis have been struggling to raise funds and it's an ideal opportunity for us to raise funds for a good cause.
It was a lovely mild day and although it was a hard walk. Claire and John completed it in just over 6 hours with a stop at Willen Lake for a well earned milkshake.
We would like to thank everyone who sponsored us. The latest figure is £525.
Below is the proposed route.
Crohn's and Colitis normally hold an organised event in London with most of those taking part suffering with the disease.
Unfortunately it had to be cancelled for the last two years as one of the problems caused by the disease is a suppressed immune system making it unwise for the time being.
