14th and 15th Of September

Yorkshire Three peaks challenge

Martin Robinson and John Waller took part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to represent St Giles.
The event was organised by the Manor of Swanburn Lodge who are also based in Bletchley.

Sat 14th Sept

Ingleborough

The first Peak to be climbed was Ingleborough on Saturday the 14th of September.

Ingleborough is 723m (2,372ft) high and is the second highest peak in the Yorkshire dales.
The walk is approximately 5 miles.
Sat 14th Sept

Pen-Y-Ghent

Pen-y-ghent is the smallest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, but it is often described as the hardest peak to climb.
This walk distance is around 6.6 miles and 694 m or 2,277 feet high.

John and Martin continued on to climb Pen-Y-Ghent as they were heading home on Sunday.
The Manor of Swanburn team had an extra day so completed this after Whemside on the Sunday.

Sun 15th Sept

Whernside

Whernside is a walk of around 8.4 miles and is 736 m or 2,4515 feet high.
This was John and Martin's last Climb before a well deserved cup of tea, Cheese burger and a long drive home.
The Members of Manor of Swanburn, family and friends all made John and Martin very welcome.
Both Lodges are donating any monies raised to the Bucks 2021 Festival and have set up their own sponsorship pages.

The Bucks 2021 Festival will donate any money raised to the MCF (Masonic Charitable Foundation).
The MCF donate to both Masonic and non-Masonic charities in England and Wales.
