Everest Base Camp Trek in aid of the 2021 Festival
Bro. Martin Robinson has planned his next trekking adventure for 2020
Raising money for the 2021 Festival (in aid of the MCF)
Martin's trip to Nepal was cancelled at the last minute due the Coronavirus epidemic.
He hopes to reschedule for later in the year... watch this space for updates.
Martin Robinson is heading to Nepal to attempt the trek from Lukla to the Everest Base camp.
The dangerous trek at high altitudes a return journey of over 80 miles will take place between the 20th to the 28th of March.
Martin's attempt at this momentous journey will be representing St Giles Lodge no. 8555 to raise funds for the 2021 Festival in Aid of the MCF.
In 2017 Martin took part in the National Three Peaks Challenge.
During 2018 he walked Coast to Coast from Newcastle to Solway on Firth following Harridans Wall, a distance of 100 miles.
In 2019 he took part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, completing all three peaks in 2 days.
This was all a build-up to this epic challenge, which few have managed to complete.
Martin is flying into Kathmandu on the 14th March 2020, then onto Lukla, braving one of the most dangerous runways in the world.
He will then trek to the Mount Everest base camp.
Not an easy challenge, contending with high altitudes and a harsh environment.
Martin has trained hard for this event over the past three years.
He is proud to be following in the footsteps of Edmund Hilary.
Martin has fallen short of climbing Mt Everest because he doesn’t’ like heights.
Please donate to this worthwhile charity.
Martin has self-funded this trip, and all money raised will go to the MCF.
