St Giles Lodge 8555
17th May Raising
Wednesday 17th May was a special evening for St Giles and our new Master Mason Charlie Bitowt. St Giles no 8555 were proud to be chosen by the Provincial Grand Master R.W. John Clark to perform a raising, using the newly installed lighting sound and lighting system at Bletchley.
This has been installed as part of project Transform which is being rolled out by W. Bro. Tim Anders who also took part in the ceremony.
Those present were treated to a magical ceremony during which Tim was able to demonstrate how the lights and sounds could dramatically enhance the ceremony.
The Provincial Grand Master was ably supported by the Wardens and Deacons of St Giles.
As well as performing the Senior Deacon roll, Brother Paul Harrison gave an exemplary rendition of the 3rd degree working tools.
Brother Charlie was due to join St Giles for the BIG meeting at Grand Lodge in London held during September 2021. However, his partner contracted covid so he was unable to attend.
Although disappointed to miss the BIG meeting, Charlie was initiated finally in January 2022.
Since joining St Giles Charlie has been keen to learn ritual and has faultlessly presented many parts of the ceremony that most do not present until later in their Masonic career.
Charlie is a very popular freemason around the province and has delivered ritual and speeches to other Lodges that have impressed many.
After the meeting we were joined at the festive board by over 30 guests for an enjoyable meal together.
